Van Buren finished fourth overall in the junior high boys’ division of the Chili Pepper held at the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville on Saturday.
The Pointers had 162 points as Conway won the event with 101 points followed by Bentonville (122) and Rogers (141).
The highest finish for Van Buren was Tyler Lemley, who finished sixth overall. Dawson Freeman was 20th and Cody Lowry was 27th. The other finishers for the Pointers included Zach Hewett (49th), Khang Truong (60th), Tyler Pense (165th) and Aiden Everett (217th).
The Lady Pointers grabbed 23rd in the girls’ junior high division.
Jayden Thompson paced Van Buren as she finished seventh overall and Amberlie Ming was 15th.
Other Van Buren runners were Raina Daley (178th), Tatum Burris (193rd), Emma Morton (196th), Emily Kelley (207th) and Abigail Bramlett (209th).
In the high school division, Mason Hayes had the highest finish for the Pointers as he took 271st with a time of 17 minutes, 35.67 seconds. Other Van Buren runners included Remi Mulloy, Cordell Landon, Marcus Roberson, Travis Cooper and Caleb Lawley.
