The Mountainburg Dragons finished third in the 2A-4 West District track meet while Decatur won the men’s division on Thursday.
The Bulldogs finished with 247.5 points as Johnson County Westside took second (131.5) with Mountainburg was third (86).
Union Christian won the women’s division with 168.5 points, but the battle for second came down to two points as Westside finished second (143) and Eureka Springs was third (141). The Lady Dragons were fourth (74.5).
Senior Lonnie Campbell won the triple jump with a leap of 38 feet, 4 inches. Campbell was also second in both the 800 (2:27.44) and the high jump (5-10), fourth in the long jump (17-5), seventh in the 1,600 (5:38.1) and eighth in the discus (82-11.5).
Senior Collette Ross seized second in the triple jump (29-5.5), fourth in the high jump (4-2) and seventh in the long jump (13-0).
Junior Brooke Pense clinched third in the 100 (14.55), the high jump (4-4) and the triple jump (29-4.5), was fourth in the 200 (31.41) and fifth in the long jump (13-2).
Sophomore Shyann McGehee finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (20.45).
Senior Brianna Hobson took fifth in the shot put (26-4) and seventh in the discus (59-1).
Tayla Carpenter nabbed sixth in the shot put (25-6).
Finishing seventh was juniors Kaylynn Moore in the 400 (1:17.5) and Lillian Beasley in the 800 (3:37.05).
Sophomore Hannah Jones grabbed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (1:02.89), seventh in the 100 hurdles (21.21), eighth in the high jump (3-10)
Mountainburg was third in the 400-meter relay.
Sophomore Blain Foley clinched second in the shot put (37-5).
Junior Sam Vanourney took fourth in the triple jump (35-6.5)
Freshman Elisha Vanourney seized sixth in both the 400 (1:02.54) and the triple jump (35-1.5), and was seventh in the high jump (5-6).
Sophomore Tyler Patterson placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (21.4).
Finishing sixth was David Mendenhall in the shot put (32-8.25) and senior Dusty Wilroth in the discus (84-5).
Senior Chris Robbins was seventh in the 100 (12.68), eighth in the 200 (27.01).
Sophomore Clayton Stephenson grabbed seventh in the 200 (26.98), eighth in the 100 (12.73)
Senior Robert Nolen seized seventh in the 110-meter hurdles (21.76).
Sophomore Levi Rutherford took eighth in the 3,200 (15:41.04).
The Dragons were fourth in the 400-meter relay and placed fifth in both the 1,600- and the 3,200-meter relays.
