Van Buren wrapped up its invitational round-robin tournament Saturday with a sweep over each of its opponents.
The Lady Pointers (6-1) won Saturday’s doubleheader beating Lincoln 10-1, 6-0 after sweeping Gravette and Paris on Friday.
Ashlee Deffenbaugh, Abby Killough and Austyn Deere had two hits each as the Lady Pointers had 11 hits for the game as Van Buren won 10-1 in four innings. The Lady Pointers had seven extra base hits including triples from Baylor Miles and Killough.
Deere got the win for Van Buren. She gave up just three hits with one earned run, a walk and five strike outs.
Lauren Wilson pitched in relief in the fourth inning.
Van Buren sent 12 batters to the plate in the second inning to pound out eight hits and score seven runs.
Destiny Moses drove in two runs and Miles’ two-run triple highlighted the inning.
Lincoln’s sole run in the doubleheader was on a RBI single by starting pitcher Ashtyn Rothrock.
Van Buren beat Lincoln 6-0 in three innings on Saturday.
Sangster had two hits (both triples) with Lady Pointers collecting six hits and capitalized on four errors by Lincoln.
Wilson grabbed the win as she surrendered four hits and one walk.
The Lady Pointers scored five runs in the first inning with a RBI triple from Sangster and a Killough drove in a run. Van Buren scored the other three runs on either an error or a wild pitch.
Van Buren 5, Gravette 1
Tori Stafford gave up just one run and hit a pair of two-run home runs as the Lady Pointers grabbed Friday’s win in the nightcap.
Stafford picked up another win for four innings of work. She gave up just one earned run, a walk and four hits with two strikeouts.
Stafford helped her own cause by going 3 of 3 at the plate with four RBIs. Aston Sangster was 2 of 3 at the plate and finished the doubleheader series with a 4 of 6 performance with two RBIs.
Van Buren began the game with Stafford’s first two-run shot and she added her second in the following inning. That gave the Lady Pointers a 4-0 lead.
Van Buren peppered Gravette’s starter Lindsee Labrecque with nine hits and five earned runs for three innings of work.
Gravette’s Samantha Pruitt had a RBI double in the third to prevent the shutout.
Van Buren answered back with Ashlee Deffenbaugh’s RBI single in the bottom of the frame.
Van Buren 6, Paris 4
The Lady Eagles had a slim 4-3 lead after two reached home on an error at the top of the fourth in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader.
Van Buren came back in the same inning to take the lead for good with solo home runs from Aston Sangster and Emilee Aaron.
Austyn Deere came in relief in the fifth for Van Buren and struck out two batter and a routine play from third to first helped the Lady Pointers remain unbeaten.
Ashlee Deffenbaugh added a RBI single in fifth with one out.
Both Aaron and Sangster were both 2 of 3 at the plate with two RBIs. Van Buren had seven hits.
Lauren Wilson earned the win for four innings of work. Wilson gave up five hits, two earned runs and four strike outs.
Austyn Deere came in the fifth and struck out each batter to seal the win.
Kailee Johnson absorbed the loss after 4 1/3 innings of work. She gave up five earned runs, two walks with three strikeouts.
