The Lady Dragons clinched second while boys took third at the junior high 2A-4 West conference track meet on April 24.

Mountainburg finished with 107 points in the girls’ division while Johnson County Westside won with 199 points. Decatur ran away with the boys’ division netting 236 points followed by Union Christian (126.5) and Mountainburg (86.5).

Tianna Carr won the 100-meter hurdles in 19.26 seconds, second in the 300 hurdles (1 minute, 0.96 seconds), sixth in the long jump (13 feet, 1 inch), and seventh in the high jump (4-3).

Kristen Webb seized second in the long jump (13-8.5), fifth in the 100-meter dash (14.71) and sixth in both the high jump (4-4) and the triple jump (26-9.5).

Leah Center clinched third in the 100-meter hurdles (19.82) and eighth in the 800 (3:35.06).

Shelby Watkins placed third in the high jump (4-5).

Gretta Rutherford placed fourth in the 100-meter dash (14.61), the discus (62-8), and in the triple jump (28-5.5), fifth in the 200 (32.79) and eighth in the 400 (1:21.16).

In the shot put, Tayla Carpenter was fourth (29-11), Madison Foster nabbed seventh (25-9) and Eden Sill was eighth (25-4). Carpenter was also eighth in the discus (56-1).

Rylli Hammond grabbed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (1:03.14).

Lauren Pense nabbed took eighth in the 100 hurdles (21.49).

Mountainburg was second in the 400-meter relay, third in the 800 relay and fifth in the 1,600 relay.


Ethan Alexander took second in the 110-meter hurdles (19.69) while Avery Hampton was fourth (20.9). In the 300-meter hurdles Alexander was fourth (49.29) and Haptom was sixth (51.09).

Elisha Vanourney placed third in both the high jump (5-2) and the triple jump (35-0).

Matthew Dollard tied for fourth in the high jump (5-0), seventh in the 200-meter dash (27.09) and eighth in the 100 (13.02).

Robert Roxin nabbed fourth in the long jump (16-3.5).

Quincey Pixley finished fifth in the triple jump (34-8.5), sixth in the 800 (2:45.58) and in the 1,600 (5:44.59), and was seventh in the long jump (15-9).

Colton Adams took fifth in the shot put (35-3) and Jacob Frazier was seventh (33-3).

Austin Taylor seized sixth in the 400 (1:08.37).

Ethan Alexander took sixth in the long jump (16-2.5).

Mountainburg was third in both the 400- and 1,600-meter relays and fourth in the 3,200 relay.
