The Cedarville Pirates picked up where they left off prior to spring break with another sweep.

Cedarville finished the week of March 11 by winning three games. The squad pulled the same feat again capping the week with a 6-0 win over Green Forest Thursday at home.

"We had a good week. We had some really solid defense the last three games," said Cedarville coach Terry Parks. "The entire lineup contributed to the wins. We had hits one through nine. I was really a team effort."

The Pirates improved to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in 3A-1 play, and starter Brett Polly picked up his fourth win this season. He struck out the first 10 batters he faced and gave up just one walk and two hits. Polly went on to strike out 13 batters in the game and has 45 strike outs in four outings.

The Pirates began the week by defeating Mulberry 7-0 on Monday and Subiaco 12-1 in five innings on Tuesday. Cedarville’s pitching staff limited foes to just one run and three hits in 19 innings this week, while the offense pounded out 25 runs.

Bryan Shelly (2-0) earned the win against Subiaco and Zach Myers grabbed the win against Mulberry.

The Pirates begin the second round of league play with a road game at Elkins on Tuesday and will host Mulberry again on Thursday. Cedarville travels to Lincoln on Friday.
