The Pirates clinch the league title with just three first-place wins.
With just three first-place wins, the Cedarville Pirates were able to edge out Elkins to clinch the 3A Region 1 West track and field title back on April 26 in Mansfield.
The Pirate relay teams won both the 400 (47.24 seconds) and the 3,200 (11 minutes, 0.87 seconds). Dakota Hopewell won the shot put (42 feet, 1 inch).
Cedarville finished with 175 points while Elkins head 153. Greenland (112) was third while Mansfield (95), Haas Hall (65) and Charleston (11) rounded out the rest of the teams.
The relay team was also fourth in the 1,600. Hopewell secured second in the discus and was fourth in both the 300 hurdles and high jump.
Chanel Kattich won the discus (73-11) for the Lady Pirates. She was also sixth in the shot put.
Bryce Calhoun, who was the high-point winner in the recent junior high regional, competed at the high school level and placed in five events. He was second in both the 300 hurdles and long jump. Calhoun finished fourth in the triple jump and earned fifth- (110 hurdles) and eighth-place finishes (100).
Isaiah Lawson took second in the pole vault, third in the pole vault, fifth in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump.
Skylar Small earned second in the shot put and fourth in the discus.
Brison Love also placed in five events, placing third in both the 100 and 200, seventh in the triple jump and eighth in both the high jump and long jump.
Josh Lind was third in both the triple jump and the 1,600, and seventh in the 3,200.
Jose Chavez (pole vault) and Billy Mongold (shot put) clinched third-place finishes.
Nathan Heaton captured fourth in the shot put and eighth in the discus.
Aaron Lawson nabbed fifth (800) and sixth (3,200).
Fabian Rhea finished sixth in the high jump. Caleb Stockton was seventh in the 200.
Hunter Lindeman (3,200) and Jon Stewart (110 hurdles).
Kamryn Vinson secured fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.
Cierra Henry (3,200) and Kennedy Vinson (shot put) were both fourth in their respective events.
Leighann Franklin finished fifth in the long jump.
