Clark helps Lady Pointers finish seventh at track meet.

Van Buren competed at the Arkansas Army National Guard Cyclone Relays in Russellville on April 7.

Conway took first in the women’s division among 16 teams with 144.5 points. The Lady Cats finished in front of Rogers (102), Bryant (86.5), Russellville (81) and Benton (40).

The Lady Pointers were seventh (34) and edged by North Little Rock who had 36.

Bryant won the 18-team field in the men’s division with 107.5 points followed by Conway (84), Cabot (68), North Little Rock (61) and Benton (58) to round out the Top 5.

The Pointers finished 15th in the men’s division with 11.5 points.

Julia Clark had the highest finish for the Lady Pointers as she took first in the 1,600-meter run in 5 minutes, 24.69 seconds and was third in the 3,200.

Chole Auldridge was fourth in the 200 and eighth in both the 100 dash and long jump.

In the throwing events, Sydney Woith was fifth in the discus while Sydney Grizzle took fifth in the shot put.

Daisy Connor placed sixth in the 1,600.

In the men’s division, Garrett Standifird was first in the discus with a throw of 137 feet, six inches.

Finishing eighth was Justin Safonov in the 110-meter hurdles and Caleb Christensen in the high jump.
