Van Buren’s soccer program will host it’s Green-White game on Feb. 22 (Saturday) at Blakemore Field to kick off the 2014 season.

The Lady Pointers will take the field at 3 p.m. and the Pointers will play at 6 p.m.

Both squads will feature a returning All-State player. Kevin Torres, a junior, will be back on the Pointer squad.

Callie Chenoweth, junior goalkeeper, has made the all-state team the past two seasons.

The coaches and players will also host a youth soccer clinic from 1:30-3:30 p.m. for kindergarteners to eighth graders. Clinic participants will showcase what they have learned between the girls and boys games.

There will also be a penalty kick shootout contest during halftime of each game. Fans can enter for a chance to do the kicks to win a prize.

Registration for the clinic can be made at www.vanburenathletics.com and it costs $15 per participant. Pre-registration is encouraged, but will be accepted the day of the event.

Van Buren hosts Heritage on March 3 to begin the season.
