Deweese Jackson Stedman, 94, of Van Buren passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. She was born Oct. 11, 1919, in Van Buren to the late Reuel and Belle Jackson. She was a retired bookkeeper with Peoples Bank & Trust Co. of Van Buren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Stedman; a sister, Cuenette Black; and a brother, Reuel Jackson.
She is survived by two stepdaughters, Rebecca Rowland of Fayetteville and Sheila Jackson Inman of Olympia, Wash.; a son, Joe Jackson of Van Buren; a stepson, James Stedman Jr. of Louisiana; a niece, Ann Jackson of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; a nephew, Terry Black and wife Lynda of Little Rock; and two great-nephews, Ryan and Josh Black of Little Rock.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel. Cremation will be under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. Interment of ashes at Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren will be done privately.
The family will visit with friends following the memorial service at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
