Bobby Gene LaRue, 80, of Rudy died Monday, May 12, 2014, at a local hospital. He retired from Whirlpool Manufacturing after 34 years and raised cattle, sheep, quarter horses and peacocks. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and served as superintent of the sheep department for Crawford County Fair, Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair and Little Rock State Fair. He was the widower of Norma Jean (Farrar) LaRue.

He is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Kutter of Van Buren and Kathy Allen of Rudy; three sons, Gary and Larry LaRue, both of Rudy, abd Robert LaRue of Pocola; four sisters, Faye Hobbs, Peggy Hatcher and Patti Gabbard, all of Rudy, and Barbara Gould of Fort Smith; six brothers Ray and Mark LaRue of Rudy, Conrad LaRue of Chester, Don and William LaRue of Van Buren, and Barney LaRue of Mountainburg; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Shamrock Cemetery in Chester.

Pallbearers will be Josh Kutter, Cody Allen, Lance, Blake, Brad and Chad LaRue, Brent Scharf and Scott Lipe.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
