Sue Daugherty, 93, of Van Buren passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, in Fort Smith. She was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Miller, Ark., to the late Henry and Bess Johnson. She was a nurses’ aide and an avid bird watcher. She loved her cats and dogs and loved her family making each one feel special. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Daugherty; and a sister, Ailene Blair.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Furch of Van Buren; a son, Carl Daugherty and wife Susan of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Patrick Daugherty, Angela Stem, Sylvan Furch, Melody Haugen and Kent Furch, 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Kent Furch, Sylvan Furch, Patrick Daugherty, Gary Stem, Jason Haugen, Keith Blair, Christopher Haugen and Melody Haugen.

The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
