Alan Eugene Arnold, 70, of Mountainburg passed away on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at a Fayetteville hospital. He was a retired locomotive engineer for the Frisco and B.N. Railroads, a former member of the U.S. Army National Guard, of the Christian faith and a member of Clear Creek Lodge in Mountainburg. Alan was a 1965 graduate of Alma High School. He was born March 31, 1947, in Rudy, to the late Cleston and Wanda (Gentry) Arnold.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Crecie Arnold of the home; two daughters, Alycia Haggard and husband Jimmy and Ashley Reed and husband Derrick, all of Mountainburg; three sons, Brian Arnold and wife Jerri of Conway and Heath Arnold and wife April and Josh Arnold and wife Carla, all of Mountainburg; six sisters; four brothers and two granddaughters, Cashlyn and McKenna Arnold.

Funeral service was Feb. 2 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment at Cain Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

Pallbearers were Dennis Shepherd, Jerry Smith, Clay Bailey, Kory House, Patrick Schmidt and Blake Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mountainburg Clear Creek Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cain Cemetery, c/o Citizens Bank & Trust or Mountainburg Presbyterian Church.
