Melissa “Sissy” D. McCormick Gregory, 38, of Van Buren passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at her home. She was born June 22, 1979, in Fort Smith. She was an animal lover and rescuer of all types of animals. She worked in the food service industry as a server, cook, cashier, or anywhere she was needed. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Aldridge; grandfather, John McCormick; grandmother, Margaret McCormick; a dearly loved uncle, Mark McCormick; and a mom, Sharon Mahan.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheyenne Gregory; a son, Maverick Gregory and wife Ottumn; and a granddaughter, Rozelynn Gregory, all of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; a brother, Bill McCormick and wife Darlene of Charleston; a sister, Kara Mahan of Fort Smith; her dad, John McCormick of Alma; her mother, Deborah Dean of Fort Smith; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; a grandfather, Guy Dean Jr. and wife Gail of Dean Springs; and a grandmother, Judy Wright of Fort Smith.

Cremation was under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
