Jo Ellen Jones, 81, of Van Buren passed away from this life Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at her home. She was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Van Buren as the only child of Orvie and Georgia (Graham) Riddle. She was the owner and executive broker of J.E. Jones Real Estate in Van Buren for 45-plus years. She was the first woman president of Van Buren Chamber of Commerce, past member of Business and Professional Women’s Group, past president of Crawford County Board of Realtors and former Realtor of the Year of Crawford County Board of Realtors. Jo Ellen’s past designations include graduate of the Realtor Institute, certified residential specialist and certified realtor broker. Jo Ellen was a member of City Heights United Methodist Church in Van Buren and was instrumental in the fund-raising and building of Van Buren Boys and Girls Club. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service was Dec. 15 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ray Jones of Van Buren; one son, Joe Ray Jones and his wife Maryanne Pace Jones of Atlanta; one daughter, Rebecca Jones Miller and her husband Randy Miller of Van Buren; two grandsons, Aaron Miller of Van Buren and Brandon Jones of Mooresville, N.C.; one granddaughter, Anna Miller Daily of Fayetteville; three great-grandsons, Ray and Andrew Miller and Luke Daily; numerous nieces and nephews and close friends; and special friend, Mammie Johnston, who was by Jo Ellen’s side at her passing.

She is loved and will be greatly missed.
