Robert “Bob” William Beyerle, 86, of Van Buren died Dec. 8, 2017, in Fort Smith. He was born June 7, 1931, in South Bend, Ind., to Robert Clark and Della Grace Cleghorn Beyerle. He was a retired employee of the Whirlpool Corp and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and elder. Bob was a baseball coach for the Fort Smith Church League and volunteered with the Back Pack Program. He also was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and was a member of golf and bowling leagues. Bob loved to travel and was a photographer.
He is survived by the love of his life, Shirley Beyerle, his wife of 66 years; three sons, Michael and wife Sharanna Beyerle of Van Buren, Greg and wife Connie Beyerle of Van Buren and David and wife Deborah Beyerle of Barling; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with inurnment at the First Presbyterian Columbarium. Service and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends following the memorial service.
