William Stephen Cooksey Sr., 74, of Van Buren passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, in Little Rock. He was a retired plumber. He will be remembered as a quiet, loving husband, father and grandfather. He tended his garden, baked beautiful cakes and cookies, hopefully hunted the big bass and served without regard for himself to the needs of others; he will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Dolly (Stephenson) Cooksey.
Funeral service was Nov. 11 at Amazing Grace Fellowship in Van Buren with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Cooksey of the home; two sons, Brian Cooksey of Cedarville and Steve Cooksey Jr. of Huntsville; three step-children, Kim Hanna Behrend of St. Louis, Mo.; and Mike and William Hanna, both of Fort Smith; one sister, Connie Martinez of Mexico; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joe Howard Jr., Mike Malone, Mark Malone, Stephen Malone, Dale Howard, James Coliron and Eldon Malone.
