James Roland Lane Sr., 72, of Kibler died June 29, 2017. He was born Feb. 26, 1945, in Paris, member of Kibler United Methodist Church and retired supervisor at Rheem Manufacturing Co. where he worked in the press department for 28 years. He served as president of Fort Smith Church League baseball in the 1970s and 80s, taught a Sunday school class at Kibler United Methodist and served as a Crawford County justice of the peace from 2011-15.

He is survived by his wife, Penny; three sons, James Lane Jr. of Van Buren, Michael Lane Sr. of Conroe, Texas and Mark Lane of Queen City, Texas; a daughter, Monica Miller of Archbold, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Cochran of Huntsville, Ala., and Lequetta Yates of Kibler; and 11 grandchildren.

Memorial service was July 7 at Kibler United Methodist Church. Cremation was under the direction of Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas.
