Layton Davis Sr., 84, of Van Buren passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at Memory Lane at Legacy Heights surrounded by his loving family. He was a 1952 graduate of Alma High School and served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Hickory Springs Manufacturing Co. and was a member of CrossPointe Community Church in Van Buren.

The youngest of 10, Layton was born to Leonard and Lizzie Mae Davis on June 17, 1933, in Dyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lizzy Mae; eight brothers, Willie, Georgie, Silas, Dudgeon, John Paul, Lloyd, Clyde, Delmar; and one sister, Ceicle; and one grandson, Stewart Sargent III.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie of the home; two daughters, Bonnie Kay Reel and husband Ronnie of Russellville and Pam Bennett and husband Clay of Poteau; three sons, Stewart Sargent of Little Rock, Randy Davis and wife Claudia of Greenwood and Layton Davis Jr. and wife Tammy of Hackett; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Celebration of his life was July 5 at the CrossPointe Church located at 3304 Kibler Highway in Van Buren with burial at Dyer Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jessie Harrison, Daron Harrison, Matt Bennett, Dennis Johnson, Preston Turner and Alec Berry. Honorary Pallbearers were Jim Morland, Carol Redwine and Enoch Diffy.
