A Van Buren woman was killed Friday morning in a vehicle accident east of Roland on Interstate 40.
Jana Dennis, 34, was the passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 2007 Ford F150, Joel Burrough, 35, of Van Buren, was transported to Sparks Regional Medical Center. Burrough was taken to the Sparks intensive care unit with head trauma and injuries.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, shortly after 7 a.m. Friday, the truck was eastbound on the interstate and ran off the road to the right at mile marker 328, three miles east of Roland. The truck overturned three times and ejected the driver while only partially ejecting the passenger.
Dennis was wearing her seat belt, the report states. Weather conditions were cloudy and dry.
