Crawford County Tax Collector Kevin Pixley has announced he will seek re-election this year.

Pixley, 46, a Republican, was elected in 2010 and is seeking his third term in office.

Pixley said he has enjoyed serving the citizens of Crawford County and intends to continue improving and streamlining the office to make paying taxes as pleasant as possible.

"I have a great and well-trained staff, and it has been a pleasure working in the collector’s office over the last three years," Pixley said.

The collector is responsible for collecting the property taxes applied to the assessment totals.

He said his primary goal for the collector’s office is to operate the office conservatively to help hold taxation rates as low as possible.

Pixley is a lifelong resident of Crawford County and a graduate of Arkansas Tech University and Van Buren High School.

He and his wife Lisa have been married for 23 years and have three daughters, Chelsea, Courtney and Callie.
