State Rep. Gary Deffenbaugh has announced his intention to seek a third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He is finishing up his second term, facing the fiscal session beginning Feb. 10.

In Deffenbaugh’s first term, he served on the Judiciary Committee, the Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee, and was appointed to the Public Retirement and Social Security Program.

In his second term, he served on the Education Committee, the Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee, and was again appointed to the Public Retirement and Social Security Program.

"I am again asking for your vote and support to serve as your District 79 state representative," Deffenbaugh said. "I will continue to be fiscally conservative and represent the needs of Van Buren in Little Rock."

Deffenbaugh has been married for 43 years to the former Carolyn Yeager. They have a son, Matthew, a daughter, April, and son-in-law, Howard Simons, and five grandchildren.
