A complimentary autograph session will follow the 7 p.m. March 6 performance of the comedy basketball team Harlem Ambassadors at Clair Bates gym at Van Buren High School.

The event will be hosted by the Crawford County Optimist Club, Van Buren Kiwanis Club and Alma Rotary Club to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Alma and Van Buren.

Presenting sponsor is Hope’s Creek Retirement Living in Van Buren. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for children 12 and under.

"This is an event families can enjoy together," said Brian Nave of the Optimist Club. "Laughter, comedy, slam dunks, high-flying hoops … all for a good cause."

Dale Moss, Harlem Ambassadors president, said those attending will see a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines.

"The Harlem Ambassadors are a team of talented male and female basketball players that are drug-free, college-educated and positive in appearance," Moss said. "They are committed to giving their audience quality family entertainment and serving as positive role models for kids."

A team of local celebrities will play against the Harlem Ambassadors and be part of the comedy.
