My name is Mitzi Milligan and I am seeking reelection as Ward 3 Position 2

council representative of the great town of Tuckerman. I was raised in

Tuckerman and graduated from Tuckerman High School. Shortly after

graduation I married my husband of now 46 years, Bobby Milligan. We have

one son, Jason, who also graduated from Tuckerman High. Bobby spent 21

years in the Air Force, so we moved around some, but Tuckerman has always

been where we called home.

When Bobby retired in 1992, we moved back home. Since then, I have

been involved in several city functions. I am the Chairperson of both the Police

Department Commission and the Planning and Zoning Committee. I am also

on the Budget and Ordinance Commission. In the past, I served as Chairperson

for the Disaster Relief Fund.

My dedication and hard work led to me being chosen as “Citizen of the Year

1994”. I was elected President of the Chamber of Commerce. I applied for and

received a $10,000 grant for the Tuckerman Senior Center. I served as Manager

of the Tuckerman Living Center for two years. I am also the proud owner of

Mitzi’s Southern Classic Spices and Gifts (formally Cora’s).

As a city council member I will work closely with other members and the

Mayor to ensure the people of Tuckerman receive the service they need and

deserve. My duty to the city and the people will be my # 1 priority. I believe

Tuckerman can and will progress in the difficult times ahead. However,

Tuckerman cannot be at its best without help from you, the citizens.

I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR VOTE SO WE CAN WORK TOGETHER AND

GET TUCKERMAN BACK ON THE MOVE AGAIN.

I am up to the challenge. Tuckerman needs good, solid common sense and

sound judgment. We must find ways to improve our city and with your help we

can. Your vote is your voice being heard.
