Tami Jones came on board recently at Balboa golf course, working as assistant to head superintendent Juan Nunez. “I’m so happy to have her with us, as she brings a wealth of experience,” said Nunez.
Moving here from Orlando, Florida, Jones earned an associate of science and golf course operations from Edison Community College. She’s licensed in the state of Florida in best management practices and commercial pesticides.
Jones was an assistant golf course superintendent at Highland Woods Golf and Country Club in Bonita Springs, Florida. She went on to be the superintendent at Disney’s Osprey Ridge Golf Course in Lake Buvena Vista, Florida, where she served for seven years and worked closely with Gary Myers who was agronomist over all the Disney courses. “She has impeccable work ethics,” said Myers, now HSV agronomist.
She was promoted to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort as Duty Manager and Custodian Guest Experience Manager where she had full authority to make decisions supporting the operation and all lines of business.
“I have a very welcoming crew of great guys and I’m excited about all the upgrades and renovations scheduled for Balboa and very happy to be working with Juan,” said Jones.
