The annual staff awards convocation for the Alma School District will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Performing Arts Center.

Teachers of the year, retiring staff and years of service will be recognized at the convocation, Superintendent David Woolly told the school board on May 10.

Woolly also told the board that 141 Alma High School seniors received scholarships totaling $5,738,610. Included were 76 scholarships from the Alma Education and Arts Foundation with a total value of $106,000.

The Alma Education and Arts Foundation honors banquet was May 11.

The board hired Kristen Mootry as a middle school teacher and Nichole Dapson and Kacie Woodmansee as high school teachers and accepted the resignations of Michael Hensley and Larry Perreault.
