The Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority may buy back land it sold in 2011 after a Thursday vote by its real estate review committee.

Lynn and Mary Marechka own the Enchanted Wedding Chapel at Chaffee Crossing and Fantasies at the Fort, a banquet hall. They had purchased four acres of land known as Constitution Park on Taylor Avenue with the intention of having outdoor weddings, but have not had many since purchasing it, Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority Executive Director Ivy Owen said.

The authority has offered to buy back the land for $60,000, having sold it for $50,000 back in 2011.

The committee also:

• Tabled a $125,000 offer from Memco Inc. to purchase five acres on Roberts Boulevard for a warehouse.

• Accepted a $150,000 offer from ERC Create, LLC to purchase six acres on the corner of McClure Drive and Wells Lake Road for a commercial/retail/residential project.

• Accepted a $50,000 offer from J.S. Jones Enterprises, LLC to purchase 2.12 acres on Fort Chaffee Boulevard for warehouse condos.

• Accepted a $75,780 offer from Carrington Creek Holdings, LLC to purchase 12.63 acres on McClure Drive for townhouse development.

• Accepted a request from Beam Properties, LLC, for a two-year first right of refusal on 32 acres north of H Street in Barling.

• Accepted a $46,000 offer from Beam Properties, LLC to purchase 46 acres in Barling for a commercial fill site open to local contractors.

Decisions made my the real estate review committee are recommendations for the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority's Board of Directors and must receive final approval from the board to be effective. The next board meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority, 7020 Taylor Ave. in Fort Smith.
