Citizens Bank & Trust Co. will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren’s fourth annual “Great Futures Gala” on Oct. 7. The horse racing-themed event will include a full evening of dinner, dancing, live music, games and auctions.
The gala serves as the club’s largest annual fundraiser, netting thousands of dollars to support youth programming and operational costs, according to Cindy Faldon, BGCVB executive director.
First held in 2014, the Great Futures Gala has grown each year, with last year’s event welcoming a sold out crowd of nearly 300 guests.
“This event is important to our organization, helping to raise crucial funds and awareness for the work that we do with the youth of community,” Faldon said. “We are very grateful to Citizens Bank & Trust for serving as this year’s presenting sponsor and to all of the businesses and individuals who support this event.”
“Horses & Highballs” will be the theme of this year’s Great Futures Gala to be at the farm of JR and Rita Young beginning at 6 p.m.
Both a live and silent auction will be held, giving gala-goers the opportunity to bid on a wide-range of prizes. Stephanie Riffle will be the master of ceremonies. Live music throughout the evening will also be provided by N BYE 10. Dinner, drinks, and dessert will be served at the event. A coffee bar will also be open throughout the night.
Tickets for the event are $75, with tables seating eight beginning at $650. A number of other sponsorship opportunities are also available.
All proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren, whose mission is “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”
BGCVB serves local youth through its after school, summer, and sports programs, averaging more than 230 students on a daily basis.
The club provides nutritious meals and snacks each day, and offers a number of self-esteem and academic programs designed to build confidence and instill values in its members.
Those unable to attend the gala but still want to support the club can make a donation to the organization either online or in-person. Gifts are tax-deductible.
