The inaugural Downtown Junk Fest will be Saturday and Sunday on Van Buren’s Main Street on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-3.

Vendors and food trucks will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day with entertainment continuing into the evening.

The Junk Fest will take place on Main Street starting at Third Street to Eighth Street. Local shops also will be open.

Admission to Junk Fest is free.

Mark Shaffer, one of the organizers of the event, said as many as 100 vendors are expected.

“We want high quality vendors to bring their best to our festival,” Shaffer said. “We are looking for vendors to include merchandise of repurposed, vintage, salvage, reclaimed, antiques, boutique items, vintage clothing, farmhouse and more.”

There will be three venues with live entertainment: The main stage in front of Van Buren’s historic courthouse, Blanche Moore Memorial Park and the new Freedom Park.

Performing at the Freedom Park amphitheater on Saturday will be Brittany Morse at 11 a.m., Ryan Chilsolm at 1 p.m. and Emily Firestine at 2:30 p.m.

On Stage 9 at Blanche Moore Park will be the Remnants at 11 a.m. Saturday, Doug McCutcheon at 1 p.m., Brodie Lovelace at 3 p.m., and Jonathan Tedford at 5 p.m., Rylee Renee at 11 a.m. Sunday, Kaitlyn and the Ketter Boys at 1 p.m., and the Aaron Tyler Rod Trio at 3 p.m.

The courthouse stage will have the Numskulls at 10 a.m. Saturday, Rylee Renee at 3:30 p.m., J.D. Clayton at 5:30 p.m., Larry B and the Cradle Rockers at 7 p.m., Brittany Morse at 1 p.m. Sunday and Christian Praise Band at 3 p.m.

A 2017 Chevrolet Camaro, sponsored by Rhodes Chevrolet, Marrlin Transit Inc. and Metro Gallery, will be raffled off, with the drawing at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 on the main stage. Raffle tickets are $20 and will be available up until the drawing. All proceeds will benefit the Center for Art and Education Building Fund in Van Buren.
