“Horses & Highballs” will be the theme of the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren’s fourth annual Great Futures Gala. To be held Oct. 7, the event will include a full evening of dinner, dancing, live music, games and auctions.
The gala will be at the farm of JR and Rita Young beginning at 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy an exciting evening in this beautiful country setting filled with festive tables, gourmet food and drink and auction items.
Both a live and silent auction will be held, giving gala-goers the opportunity to bid on a wide-range of prizes. Stephanie Riffle will be the master of ceremonies. Live music throughout the evening will also be provided by N BYE 10. Dinner, drinks, and dessert will be served at the event. A coffee bar will also be open throughout the night.
First held in 2014, the Great Futures Gala has grown each year, with last year’s event welcoming a sold out crowd of nearly 300 guests. The event serves as the club’s largest annual fundraiser.
“The Great Futures Gala is very important to our club, in that it raises crucial dollars and awareness for our organization,” said Cindy Faldon, BGCVB executive director. “We are grateful to the community for how it has embraced our gala and helped make it one of our area’s most popular events. Last year’s gala sold out and we expect that tickets will go quickly again this year.”
Tickets for the event are $75, with tables seating eight beginning at $650. A number of other sponsorship opportunities are also available.
All proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren, whose mission is “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”
BGCVB serves local youth through its after school, summer, and sports programs, averaging more than 230 students on a daily basis. The club provides nutritious meals and snacks each day, and offers a number of self-esteem and academic programs designed to build confidence and instill values in its members.
Those unable to attend the gala but still want to support the club can make a donation to the organization either online or in-person. Gifts are tax-deductible.
