A murder mystery/comedy show performed by the Mulberry Community Theater Group is set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Mulberry High School cafeteria.

Written and directed by Selina Rosen of Kibler, “Murder at My Aunt Mary’s House” will be performed by the theater group at 8 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $7.

This will be the play’s premier performance.

A dress rehearsal set for 8 p.m. Thursday is open to the public. Tickets for the rehearsal are $5 for adults, and $1 for Mulberry high school students and employees.

On her Facebook page, Rosen encourages local people to come see the show.

“Around here I constantly hear people (especially young people) saying, ‘There is nothing to do,’ yet when there is clearly something like a play or other entertainment to go to, you look around and see way too many empty seats,” Rosen said on her page. “There is plenty to do if people will support it.”

A description of the play reads, “Mary’s Murder Mystery Club is all but dead, but when a strange man is murdered in her living room, things start to liven up … maybe a little too much.”

Local performers include Karen Meadors, Tania Mears, Robert and Stacy Muntz, Anthony Gibbs, Quinton Marshall, Betty Rankin, Traci Lewis, Zeb Rosenzweig, Roland Falt, Randy and Angela Jones, Leroy Kizer and Wilma Kizer, and Neta Orr.

“The Mulberry Community Theater Group are a talented bunch of people,” Rosen said on her page. “Please help us to continue to be able to put on shows by coming to this production and spreading the word.”

Tickets may be reserved by calling the theater office at (479) 430-0684.
