The sixth annual Paint Downtown Pink 5K Run/Walk is set for Sept. 30 at 8:30 a.m. beginning at Riverfront Pavilion in Fort Smith.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Susan G. Komen-Ozark, Special Olympics Arkansas Area 4 and Special Olympic athletes of Abilities Unlimited in Van Buren.

Participants will enjoy a relatively flat course through the Belle Grove district beginning at the pavilion at 100 N. B St., according to a media release for the event.

Cost to enter the race is $30 for adults and $20 for children age 9 and under who pre-register. Cost is $35 for those who register the day of the race.

For teams of more than 10, there is a $5 discount per team member. The discount will not be applied for teams who register the day of the race.

Teams must represent a business and can include employees and immediate family.

An awards ceremony will be held immediately following the race, and a celebration with hot dogs, music and drawings.

All participants will receive a finisher’s medal. Awards will be given to first, second and third place for overall male and female runners, overall male and female walkers, and for runners and walkers in each age group.

A traveling plaque is awarded to the business team with highest number of members participating. The 2015/2016 plaque holder is Select Medical Fort Smith.

Registration forms can be found online at Eventbrite. Pre-registration packet pickup is Friday, Sept. 29, at 5-7 p.m. at Riverfront Pavilion.
