A seminar to learn to judge local preliminaries for Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen pageants is set for June 17 in Little Rock.
An annual judges seminar held by Miss Arkansas Executive Director’s Association is set for June 17 at the Robinson Auditorium in Little Rock in ballroom “C.”
Registration for the hour-long seminar begins at 9 a.m. and the seminar is set for 9:30 a.m. Cost is $15 per person.
This year’s seminar will be led by Robin Houseworth, field operations director for the Miss Arkansas Scholarship Pageant.
Those who attend the seminar will learning about the judging process and have the opportunity to be placed on the Arkansas Judges List for the 2017-2018 preliminary pageant season.
All phases of pageant competition will be covered in the seminar along with eligibility to judge and rules.
Judges for a Miss Arkansas or Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen preliminary pageant must be at least 24 years of age, not competing in the Miss America system or have a family member competing, and may not nor their significant other benefit financially from working with or coaching contestants.
Judges must attend the seminar every year to remain on the Arkansas Judges List, and their membership must be renewed yearly.
