Downtown Van Buren soon will be home to a Pasta Grill.
The restaurant will be located at 810 Main St., site of the former Cottage Cafe. The completely renovated building will include a deck and parking at the rear of the building.
Pasta Grill Van Buren will be owned and operated by Phil Payton and Cathi Dixon, who will marry May 25. The restaurant is expected to open in late summer or early fall.
Pasta Grill was founded by Wes and Suzanne Hall in 1994. Six locations have been opened. Of these, four have been sold to individuals. The Halls currently own locations in Russellville and Conway. The Van Buren location will be the seventh opened under the guidance and expertise of the Hall’s 22 years in the business.
“The Conway and Russellville locations are both located in downtown districts very similar to the Van Buren location,” Dixon said. “There is a great advantage to the atmosphere and history of the buildings in the theme of the restaurants.”
With the new Freedom Park opening and the revitalization of downtown in full swing, Dixon said she and Payton felt it was the perfect time to open a Pasta Grill across from the train depot.
Pasta Grill is a casual fine dining restaurant that serves traditional Italian cuisine, prime steak collections and seafood dishes, many of which have a Cajun flair such as shrimp and grits and crawfish cornbread.
“We have delicious scratch-made desserts to complement your meal, including white chocolate creme brulee, chocolate espresso cake and the lemon tart,” Dixon said.
The local Pasta Grill will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdau through Saturday and for dinner Tuesday through Thursday 5 to 9 p.m. and 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
“We will have a private dining room available to reserve for your special meetings or large family gatherings,” Dixon said. “We offer dine in, carry out, family style to go meals and catering. Whether it’s a special night out or a casual lunch or dinner with friends, Phil and I look forward to serving you at Pasta Grill Van Buren. Keep watching for Pasta Grill updates as we progress towards our opening date.”
