Bryson Patrick of Van Buren and Amber Stricklin were the overall winners of the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren’s fifth annual Life’s an Uphill Run.

Bekaert Corp. was the presenting sponsor for Saturday’s event.

Patrick, 16, completed the 5K run chip-timed by Jaymax Race Timing Services in a time of 18.55.6. Stricklin, 34, had a time of 25.35.9 which tracked through the various elevations of the Dr. Louis Peer Memorial City Park and surrounding area.

A one-mile fun run/walk took participants along the perimeter of Lake Cap Bedell, located next to the club.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren, which serves more than 1,300 members through its after school, summer and sports programs. The club also provides nutritious meals each weekday to participants.

Prizes were awarded to the top male and female finishers in each age division of the 5K event. They were:

Female 10 and under, Kyla Jeffcoat of Van Buren; male 11 to 14, Dillon Portillo of Van Buren; female 15 to 20, Tiffany Portillo of Van Buren; male 15 to 20, Tyler Lemley of Van Buren; female 21 to 30, Brittany Lewis of Mulberry; male 21 to 30, Jose Cereceres of Van Buren; female 31 to 40, Angela Glosenger of Van Buren; male 31 to 40, David Nixon of Poteau; female 41 to 50, Ha Vuong of Fort Smith; male 41 to 50, Alex Yepez of Van Buren; male 51 to 55, Charles Konzelman of Fort Smith; female 56 and over, Janice Gilbreth of Alma; and male 56 and over, Paul Kinder of Hackett.
