Crawford County Adult Education Center will host a grant writing workshop 9-11 a.m. at 605 Alma Boulevard Circle. The agenda will include proposal development, writing tips, style suggestions, budget development, financial concerns and forms. CAE will offer the free workshop in conjunction with the Crawford County Extension Office.

Alma Public Library will hold a redwork embroidery class from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Bring an embroidery needle, embroidery loop, floss, envelopes and a shoe box. Call 632-4140.

Oct. 21

Old Rock School in Cedarville will hold an Indian tacos dinner and Bingo. Taco dinner is at 5 p.m. and by donation; Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and is 25 cents per game. Last game is a coverall for a quilt.

James Shepard and the Lawmen Band will perform at the Van Buren Senior Center as a fundraiser for a new heat and air unit for the Cedarville Senior Center. Music and dance will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A meal of chili dogs or Frito pie will be available with dessert and coffee or tea. Cost is $8 at the door. Silent auction will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Alma Farmers Market will host a holiday market to celebrate their end of the season. Artisan vendors will sell hand-crafted items, as well as retail items. Cedarville Area Community Appreciation Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cedarville City Park, just past City Hall on Arkansas 162. There will also be a Harvest 5K Run at 8 a.m., beginning and ending at the Old Rock School. Vendors and games will be available, a silent auction will benefit the Cedarville Public Library, Miss/Mr. Cedarville Harvest Pageant will begin at noon and a city-provided lunch will be at 11 a.m. There will also be live entertainment and face painting. Cedarville Senior Center will be taking orders for Thanksgiving pies.

Oct. 28-29

Kibler Baptist Church at 141 E. Kibler Road in Alma will host a fall festival with a free live action western hayride called “Quick Draw Saul” from 6-8 p.m. The festival also will include candy, games and a western town.
