As a retired member of the US Army and Law Enforcement I am appalled at the level of misconduct occuring in the Van Buren Police department. This amount of misconduct for such a small department indicates a leadership failure at all levels of the department. If this level of misconduct has been ocurring then based on my experience, everyone knew about it. And if you know about it and you dont report it you are just as guilty. Mr. Mayor please salvage what little integrity your department has left and start over. It is embarrassing to have the topic of discussion revolve around misconduct instead of what a professional job the members of your department do. Thank You.

I would like to thank a special group of girls, The outlaw softball team for girls under 10. I went to their auction on Saturday the 31st. These girls helped me and many others with loading the stuff we bought. They worked real hard and they acted like they were real glad to do it. I really appreciated their help. I lived on Walnut Street in Fort Smith in the late 1958-1959 years, I loved Van Buren and everytime I get a chance I stop there. I am in my 60's now and have missed all the young people I grew up with. Van Buren is a wonderful place for sure,all of that area is beautiful. I have thought about retiring there, never can tell. Eldon Morton Roberts was born on Oct. 15, at 7:44 a.m. at Ormond Memorial Hospital In Ormond Beach, FL. He weighed in at 8lbs&13 ozs, and 21 inches long. Mother and son or doing well. Proud parents are William Eldon and Jennifer and sister Carlina Grace. Grandparents are Carl Oneil and Estella Roberts, Paula and Kent Morton. Greatgrand Mother is Wenonah Roberts of Magazine, AR.

I have attended the lil league world series this year a couple of times, and it is just overall a awesome time. I was wondering if anyone can tell me why the Diamond center isnt as nice as the Field of Dreams. I mean come on the girls have dreams as well. Just read an article where all of this money is going to go backinto the boys and girls club just like it did last year. Hmm doesnt seem as any of that money trickled down to the girls field. I also overheard out at the field of dreams that they ordered more metal the other day to expand their expanding seating. Seems to me they would be donating the money to the Diamond complex for lighting on field 4 so they could hold state tournament next year.

I remember the Press Argus fondly when my son was playing in the 13 Yr. Old World Series in 2004. You did a great job covering the games. I would love to see some coverage on your website of this year's tournament. My son returned to Van Buren to visit Rick and Robbie Spoon and to see their son, Tyler play in this year's tournament.
