Fight breast cancer with bagels

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Panera Bread locations in Fort Smith, Bentonville and Fayetteville will donate 25 cents for each Pink Ribbon bagel sold during October to Susan G. Komen Ozark. Panera will also donate 100 percent of all Pink Ribbon bagel sales Friday to Komen Ozark. Panera Bread is located at 2917 S. 74th St. in Fort Smith.

Supplies for Puerto Rico collected

Puerto Rico disaster relief items will be collected from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church, 2825 Grinnell Ave. in Fort Smith, and from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the River Valley Food Truck Festival, 200 Garrison Ave. An ongoing collection box also is available at Cardio Studio, 60 Northridge Drive in Van Buren. The relief drive is being conducted in conjunction with Puerto Ricans in Arkansas.

Some of the items most needed are first aid kits; hygiene products; batteries, especially Ds; flashlights; water and juice; and pet food.
