Drivers make return to victory lap

Kaelin Richesin picked up this second win in three weeks as he climbed back in front of the other Front Wheel Drive drivers Saturday at Crawford County Speedway.

The racetrack will also have special races on July 5 starting at 6 p.m. with its annual Firecracker 30, fireworks show and a special race of 30 to 40 Elite Modifieds running 1,000cc engines. CCS will also have double points on July 5 as well as additional money paying out. There will be no races on Saturday, July 4.

Jack Bieker, in his first race since June 6, finished second followed by Justin McDade, who has placed third for the fourth consecutive week. Betty Bieker was fourth and Randy Payne picked up his highest finish this season, by coming in fifth.

Jimmy Richesin, Jerry Ellison and Clay Lewis were disqualified from the June 27 races and have been suspended for the next two weeks for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Parker Dunn picked up the Young Guns win after finishing third and runner up the last two weeks. Dunn finished in front of Tyler Chambers, Lee Selman and Matthew Bolton, the winner from the previous two weeks.

Brandon Hunter's dominance among the Grand Nationals continued with his ninth overall win. Chuck Smith grabbed second in front of Eddie Rich, Remington Watson and Wesley Gryner.

Dalton McKenzie got back into the Pure Stock's winner's circle after placing either second or third in the last three weeks. Last week's winner, Myles Newman was runner up followed by Brody Young, James Watkins and Lonny Flanagan.

Shannon Weese picked up another win the Economy Modified followed by Les Weese, Shannon Wilhite and Dewayne Dyer.

Whenever Dusty Schmidt shows up, he tends to leave the competition in the dust at CCS. Schmidt, won the mini stock in his first race back since June 13. He had just raced seven times this season and won six of them.

Edward Boyster was second in front of Teddy Parker, Roger Boyster and Stan Lewis.

James Drummond picked up his fourth Modified win followed by Zach Hobson, Sam Osman and Bosco Hunter. Brandon Hunter, who had a string of runner-up finishes for three consecutive weeks, placed fifth.
