The Crawford County Public Defender's Office has been appointed to represent two from Alma accused of selling marijuana to a confidential informant for the Arkansas State Police.
Lisa Kidd, 31, and Josh Tash, 43, are each charged with two counts of delivery of marijuana.
Prosecuting Attorney Marc McCune said both Kidd and Tash allegedly sold one-fourth pound of marijuana for $400 on Jan. 10 while Kidd sold another one-fourth pound for $300 on Jan. 25 and Tash one ounce for $100 on Dec. 17, 2007.
Judge Gary R. Cottrell set their bonds at $3,500 and appointed the public defender to represent them. Public Defender Thurman Ragar entered the not guilty pleas on Kidd and Tash and waived formal arraignment before Cottrell.
Also on Monday, Brandon Gregory, 30, of Roland pleaded not guilty to failure to appear at an Oct. 31, 2007, plea on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered held in the Crawford County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
Cottrell ruled there was enough evidence to hold Travis Bailey, 25, of Chester for suspicion of leaving the scene of an injury accident. His bond was set at $1,500.
Bailey was arrested after the sheriff's deputy received a call about a Chevrolet Malibu being driven recklessly on U.S. 71. When Deputy Barry Gudgeon attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped up and reached speeds of up to 90 mph before crashing into a guard rail, McCune said.
